I'm a carpenter by trade, I came over here and got my trade recognised. Carpentry here, in commercial, is something I've never done at home before. So at 34 years of age I'm starting to re-skill again, you know, which is very good, it keeps the mind really occupied and really busy.
Canberra for bringing up the family is fantastic; because you've got your country feel in the capital of Australia. Schooling here in Canberra is fantastic, for our little one anyway, she loves it. She's been made settle in really, really good.
[Katherine] There is a lot more choice in the curriculum as well, over here, and you have a playground around every corner as well.
[James] The neighbourhood is very, very good isn't it...
[Katherine] ...its very quiet
[James] Its very quiet, no dramas in it. The neighbours will pop their head across the fence and say hello, and how are you going, and our neighbour actually popped her head across the fence the other day and brought us over for dinner. When we're telling them at home, you know, we're going over to the neighbours' for dinner, just after popping her head over, she said 'are you going around already for dinner?!'

This video covers how to actually get a high ATAR, through several no-bs advice that helped me achieve a 99.95 ATAR without excessive study. The secret lies not in extremely complicated study techniques, but rather in a few key fundaments that are essential for studying smarter, not harder - the main one being FLOW. Although some of these tips appear 'boring' or 'common sense', they are all that are necessary for achieving those top marks. I wish I could have told my younger self not to focus on trying out all the new fancy study techniques mentioned in many other YouTube videos, and instead focus on consistency.
Note: Although I did VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) in Year 12 Australia, these tips can be applied to any education system.
